News for the New Year with Lorraine Stubbs

In this issue of our audio magazine, you'll hear the voice of Lorraine Stubbs, who is sharing some important news for the New Year!  She was a Pan Am Games, Gold Medalist in 1971.  And, twenty years later, in 1991, was Double Gold.  She was a Member of the Canadian Olympic Dressage Team twice, and was the 2nd Canadian in history, to finish in the Top Ten at the Games.  She’s been named Horsewoman of the year, and Canadian Champion 15 times.  Hoofbeats has long known of her as an International Dressage Judge, and High Performance Certified Coach in Canada, but was surprised to learn of her role as Equine Consultant to Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Musical Ride!  Isn’t it cool she has an M.A. in English Literature - University of Western Ontario and York University?

You'll hear about an Equine Employment Standards Action Group, and an upcoming International Conference on Equitation Science - both on campus.  We also discuss how the test, makes for the type of training, and what she sees in High Performance Sport.  And, what it was like coming up through Pony Club in the 60's.

There's also a tune or two from Danny Michel, who is playing in Waterloo Mondays in January.
